• Das Management Reporting stellt eine bedeutende Informationsversorgungsquelle zur Steuerung eines Unternehmens dar. Die Inhalte der Berichtserstattung sollten die besonderen Charakteristika des Unternehmens darstellen. Für mWS myWorld Solutions AG ist die Besonderheit das Geschäftsmodell, da es sich hier um einen konzerninternen Dienstleister handelt. In den letzten Jahren ist das Unternehmen stetig gewachsen, wodurch sich der Bedarf des Unternehmens an Steuerung und Kontrolle dementsprechend vergrößert hat. Demzufolge wurde im Rahmen dieser Masterarbeit das Management Reporting als Kerninstrument für die Informationsübermittlung an das Management optimiert. Die Problemstellung dieser Masterarbeit ist die Optimierung des Management Reporting Prozesses und der Inhalte der Berichte, sodass diese den Zweck des Reportings erfüllen. Das Ziel des Reportings ist die Übermittlung der Information über die Ertragslage des Unternehmens mit dem Fokus auf die Entwicklung der Kosten auf Unternehmens- und auf Projektebene. Als Output der Inhaltsoptimierung wurde ein MS Excel-Tool erstellt. Hier wurde der Grad der Aggregation durch eine zusätzliche Darstellung der Budget-Ist-Abweichungsanalyse auf Projektebene optimiert. Die optische Darstellung der Inhalte wurde durch die Einführung eines Ampelsystems verbessert und die Berichtsinhalte wurden durch die Einführung von fünf Kennzahlen erweitert. Um die Optimierungspotenziale festzustellen, wurde ein leitfadengestütztes Interview mit dem Vorstandsvorsitzenden durchgeführt. Für die Endauswahl der Kennzahlen wurde das Scoring-Modell angewendet. Als Output der Prozessoptimierung wurden Prozessbeschreibungen konzipiert. Um die Zuverlässigkeit und die fristgerechte Abgabe des Reportings zu gewährleisten, wurden mehrere Optimierungspotenziale abgeleitet. Diese sind das Vermerken des Leistungszeitraums der spät eingetroffenen Rechnungen im Controlling-Modul des Programmes Microsoft Dynamics NAV, die Verschiebung der Frist für das Reporting, die Vorverlegung der Abgabefrist für die externe Lohnabrechnungsfirma und die Definition einer Vertretungsfunktion für den Freigabeprozess der Kreditorenrechnungen im Falle von Dienstreisen und Krankenstand. Die im Rahmen der Masterarbeit konzipierten Prozessbeschreibungen sollten im nächsten Schritt verbindlich in den Prozess des Management Reportings integriert werden. Um die Einhaltung der festgesetzten Prozessziele zu gewährleisten, sollten die im Rahmen der Masterarbeit definierten Maßnahmen umgesetzt werden. Darüber hinaus weist die Endauswahl der Kennzahlen Optimierungspotenziale auf, die nach einer Veränderung der Frequenz für die Verrechnung von konzerninternen Leistungen realisiert werden kann.
• Management reporting provides a significant source of information for steering and managing the business. The content of the management reports should reflect the specific characteristics of the business. In the case of mWS myWorld Solutions AG, the special feature is the business model, since the company is an internal service provider for the myWorld Group. In the recent years, the company has grown steadily, thus also the need for control and management has increased accordingly. Therefore, this master thesis deals with the optimization of the management reporting in mWS myWorld Solutions AG, as it is a core instrument for the transmission of information to the management. The key objective of this master thesis is the optimization of the process and the content of the management reporting in order to fulfill the purpose of the reporting. The purpose of the reporting is to transmit the information about the earnings position of the company with the focus on the development of the costs at a company-wide level and at a project level. The practical output of the content optimization is an MS Excel Tool. In this tool the degree of data aggregation was optimized by adding an additional variance analysis of the budgeted and the actual costs at a project level. Moreover, the visual presentation of the contents was improved by the introduction of a traffic light system. Lastly, the report contents were broadened by introducing five key performance indicators. The method used to determine the optimization potentials was an interview conducted with the chief executive of mWS myWorld Solutions AG. The scoring model was used for the final selection of the key performance indicators. Process descriptions were designed as the practical output of the process optimization. In order to ensure the reliability and the timely submission of the reporting, several optimization potentials were derived. These are recording of the service period in the management control module of the program Microsoft Dynamics NAV for the invoices delivered late; postponing the deadline for the reporting; imposing an earlier payroll submission deadline for the external payroll company and defining a substitution function for the approval process of vendor invoices in the case of business travel and sick leave. The further steps to make is the integration of the process descriptions as formulated in this master thesis into the process of management reporting. Furthermore, in order to ensure compliance with the determined process objectives, the actions defined within this master thesis should be implemented. In addition, the selection of the key performance indicators has further optimization potential that can be realized after a change in the frequency of invoicing the intercompany services has been performed.
