Genderdiversität in Vertriebsteams und die Auswirkung auf die Teamdynamik im Industriesektor
- This abstract provides a concise overview of the master's thesis titled "Gender Diversity in Sales Teams and Its Impact on Team Dynamics in the Industrial Sector." This research explores the pivotal role of gender diversity within sales teams, specifically focusing on the industrial sector, and how it influences team dynamics. Despite evidence suggesting that female sales representatives achieve their sales targets at a higher rate than their male counterparts, women remain significantly underrepresented in sales roles, especially in leadership positions. The study delves into the genderspecific distribution within B2B sales teams, highlighting a pronounced disparity that becomes more evident in higher leadership roles. By examining both the advantages brought by women in teams—such as increased sustainability, improved company performance, and innovative strategies—and the stark gender differences prevalent in the industrial sector, this thesis seeks to close a notable research gap. It employs a quantitative approach to evaluate how gender diversity affects non-monetary aspects of team dynamics, such as communication quality, conflict resolution capabilities, innovation, and overall team satisfaction. The findings aim to deepen the understanding of gender diversity's specific impacts on sales team dynamics and provide practical insights for optimizing team interactions in the industry. Through this analysis, thethesis contributes to the academic discourse on gender diversity and offers actionable recommendations for companies to harness the benefits of a diverse team composition, ultimately enhancing team effectiveness and achieving competitive advantages in theindustrial sector.
